Formerly from Minnesota, I am a classically trained singer with a Bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University and Masters degree from West Texas A&M University, both degrees in vocal music performance.
I have participated in many singing groups in college, graduate school, and post baccalaureate. I have been teaching for 3 yrs and have studied voice for over 10 years.
I have performed across the country and internationally with choral groups and as a solo artist. I am familiar with multiple genres of music including renaissance/early music, popular music, musical theatre, and opera.
I am open and available for zoom lessons if anyone is more comfortable with that avenue.
I received my training at the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Houston. I have spent significant time studying with different voice teachers, performing on both operatic and concert stages, and teaching high school students around the greater Houston area.
My goal is to equip students with the ability to sing with an ease of vocal production and a clear, vibrant tone. I also strive to develop a very specific ear for intonation in all of my student. I intend to be a resource to help students develop a deeper knowledge of the musical styles, composers, and performers tat are attached to the music they are working on.
